A Clash of Style

So this is a recent project I did to help a fashion photography friend out! Annabelle is creating advertisements for the jewellery brand Alona and asked me to style the shoot. The theme she was after was a bold and colourful look for her editorial and a more classic chic yet playful one for her lookbook.

I actually loved this, going out and finding loads of clothes and working out each outfit and what would go for what shoot! I'm definitely a shopoholic even when it's not for me I get a massive buzz out of it, (even though I would keep it all from the shoot if I could!)

So here are some of the photos from the shoot!

A Dream Come True?!

So just thought I had to share this! My friend sent me the link and I was instantly in love with this collection! The collection is from the Red Valentino RTW Fall 2014 and is based on the fairy tale Snow White. Well, this makes me truly happy and everyone who knows me will know this is because I LOVE Snow White to the point that I dressed up as her for my 21st after having a Disney themed night out much to my friends dismay who are not fans of dressing up...

The collection is full of bright colours with a pop art element running through. I also love how the collection is so girly with mini skirts, polkadot prints, and flirty dresses yet has contrasting elements of leather and varsity jackets. But I think my favourite detail in the collection was the Snow White print on jumpers and bags and even shoes bringing a cartoon factor and creating something fun and girly.

Absolutely love this vinyl trench!

Just thought I would show you some of the little things that add to my devotion to Snow White!

A Summer of Icons

So in the summer I thought with some spare time I would practice more on my illustrations and keep in the mood of actually doing something before I went back to Uni and had loads of work thrown at me! I started drawing some of my favourite celebrities which include Katy Perry and Britney Spears (yes I LOVE Britney Spears).  I wanted to start drawing well known faces as i've improved in actually drawing figures faces( I used to leave them blank!) but I couldn't really get them to look like the people I was basing them on!

Here are some of the Illustrations, I'm still not sure they look like there supposed identities in fact I'm pretty sure one of the Katy Perry illustrations looks more like Kylie Jenner but it was fun drawing them and I got to use some of my new pens!

Both Katy Perry illustrations done in Illustration pens.

Britney illustration done in water colours pencils.

My First Victoria's Secret

So suprisingly through my love of lingerie I had never been to a Victoria's Secret store until last year and it was AMAZING. I genuinely thought I was in heaven with windows full of designs straight of the catwalk and an amazing crystal staircase that just kept leading you to more and more pretty things! So after being inspired from my trip (and going back with some birthday pennies) to the shop I started some illustrations from the Catwalk and couldn't stop! Once I have more time I will definitely be illustrating some looks off the 2013 Fashion Show!

Some cheeky purchases, including a silk polkadot nighty and some fruity smelling perfume!

All illustrations are from the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2012.

A bit of Bowie.

So this was a project in my second year for the brand TopMan.We had to create a pair of jeans and a t-shirt with the theme of a subculture behind them and obvioulsy I chose the New Romantics as I LOVE everything to do with the 80's especially my love for David Bowie! My design also included a twisted seam around the jeans which took awhile after managing to make two left legs instead of one left and one right! This was also the first time we were asked to do a digital sketchbook which was different! So here a couple of pages and the final garments!

The Start

First post! Ahh just wanted to show some of the first fashion illustrations I did that I was actually happy with! For a long time I was awful at drawing faces and these two were the first of my illustrations to actually look like people! The illustrations were to be used for a mood board I had to create in my first year of uni. (You might notice a lot of lingerie designs in my work as I have a slight obsession with it!)
