So haven't been on here for awhile!! Been busy writing my dissertation :(. But i've finished all that now so Wooo!! For my dissertation I chose to the the practical version of it where I do 4000 words and a project alongside it instead of 8000 words (I hate writing essays!) FMP Spur

So for my Final Major Project I've chosen to do the 2D brief which is designing a 24 piece collection and creating a book from it. The theme of my collection is a clash of eras. What would people where if the 1950's and the future came together? I also want my collection to convey the idea of clothes decreasing through the decades. What would people be wearing in the future just lingerie?

The collection has to consist of four different stories made up of six outfits.

The first story in my collection is called SPUR.

This collection is based on clothing being made up of man made materials from the future with the idea of having no natural fabrics to available anymore. An element going through this collection is metal being the material used. The patterns created are from the shadows shown on the floor by iron gates. It is also a replacment for boning in lingerie and the idea of having underwear over outerwear. The floral prints and full skirts show an element of the 1950's fashion trend with another touch a future adding to them by having certain garments made in PVC.

Thanks for reading I will be adding the next collection in a couple of days!

A Clash of Style

So this is a recent project I did to help a fashion photography friend out! Annabelle is creating advertisements for the jewellery brand Alona and asked me to style the shoot. The theme she was after was a bold and colourful look for her editorial and a more classic chic yet playful one for her lookbook.

I actually loved this, going out and finding loads of clothes and working out each outfit and what would go for what shoot! I'm definitely a shopoholic even when it's not for me I get a massive buzz out of it, (even though I would keep it all from the shoot if I could!)

So here are some of the photos from the shoot!

A Dream Come True?!

So just thought I had to share this! My friend sent me the link and I was instantly in love with this collection! The collection is from the Red Valentino RTW Fall 2014 and is based on the fairy tale Snow White. Well, this makes me truly happy and everyone who knows me will know this is because I LOVE Snow White to the point that I dressed up as her for my 21st after having a Disney themed night out much to my friends dismay who are not fans of dressing up...

The collection is full of bright colours with a pop art element running through. I also love how the collection is so girly with mini skirts, polkadot prints, and flirty dresses yet has contrasting elements of leather and varsity jackets. But I think my favourite detail in the collection was the Snow White print on jumpers and bags and even shoes bringing a cartoon factor and creating something fun and girly.

Absolutely love this vinyl trench!

Just thought I would show you some of the little things that add to my devotion to Snow White!

A Summer of Icons

So in the summer I thought with some spare time I would practice more on my illustrations and keep in the mood of actually doing something before I went back to Uni and had loads of work thrown at me! I started drawing some of my favourite celebrities which include Katy Perry and Britney Spears (yes I LOVE Britney Spears).  I wanted to start drawing well known faces as i've improved in actually drawing figures faces( I used to leave them blank!) but I couldn't really get them to look like the people I was basing them on!

Here are some of the Illustrations, I'm still not sure they look like there supposed identities in fact I'm pretty sure one of the Katy Perry illustrations looks more like Kylie Jenner but it was fun drawing them and I got to use some of my new pens!

Both Katy Perry illustrations done in Illustration pens.

Britney illustration done in water colours pencils.
